BCCP is making, but this time, at home! A trial run of the Make It At Home Challenge has recently been launched to help satiate the middle school students’ need for a creative outlet, as well as to break up the monotony of the remote learning they have become accustomed to.
While we would all love to have access to our classrooms and makerlabs for access to cool tech and tools, it is also our responsibility as makers to recognize the “maker moments” all around us that are just waiting to happen. Simple materials like old t-shirts or an everyday item like a smartphone can respectively be transformed into recycled yarn or a stop motion camera with a little elbow grease and a lot of creativity.
BCCP’s Maker Interns have also moved to an online setting where they are able to complete timed projects as a way to complete their work hours. Keep an eye out for future blog posts written by them!
