Students at STAR middle school rung in the new year by interviewing peers and BCCP staff about goals. Students were asked to write a series of SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely) goals for their lives – anything from schoolwork to family life to anything in between. Goals were set for the next year, the next month, the next ten years, and even for the next day. Goals students identified ranged from “increasing my GPA from 90 to 95” to “telling my mom I love her more often.”
We then filmed a brief sampling of responses, with students alternately acting as cinematographers, on-screen talent, assistant directors and directors.
At STAR we believe that setting goals are an important first step towards creating success. Stay tuned to the blog for an update on our progress via our documentary short.
